MMCF is addressing winter clothing needs through the Yancey County School System by providing coats, leggings, sweat shirts, and other winter clothing as well as appropriate footwear.

He also sits on the board of the Appalachian Therapeutic Riding Center a nonprofit organization serving children of special needs. Don and his wife Lesly of 55 years have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
